Working with us

We are hiring the first account manager.

Small team, real technology, and a market that is genuinely underserved. This page describes the roles honestly — including the parts that will not suit everyone — because the alternative wastes your time and ours.

Account Manager — NHS trusts

The first commercial hire, and the one the rest of the plan depends on.

What the job is

Getting in front of the person at an NHS trust who owns a problem we can solve, and turning that into a small first engagement. Not cold-calling switchboards — the targets are named, the problems are documented in public board papers, and the opening conversation is about something the trust already knows it has.

You run the first meeting alone. From the second meeting a technical lead joins you and handles the technology questions while you keep the relationship and the commercial conversation. You stay as account owner through delivery.

Who this suits

  • You have sold into NHS trusts before and understand how a trust actually buys
  • You have two or three warm routes into trusts you could use in the first month
  • You are comfortable walking away from a prospect that fails qualification
  • You would rather say “let me check and come back tomorrow” than improvise an answer

Read this part before anything else. This is a commission-only role. There is no salary and no retainer. You are paid when a contract is signed and the customer’s first invoice is paid.

What that honestly means

Year oneLean. Pilots take four to eight weeks to land, then four to six more to invoice and be paid. There is a real gap before the first commission arrives.
Runway neededYou should be able to work three to six months without commission income before you take this on.
Year twoWhere it compounds, if you have landed pilots and converted them.
The six-month testIf you have not landed a pilot by month six, the role is not working in its current form. We would rather establish that at month six than month twelve.

Commission rates, territory and the route to a salaried position are confirmed in writing before you commit any time. We will not ask you to start chasing targets on a verbal understanding.

What you can expect from us. A named technical lead who joins your second meetings within two working days of being asked. Current pitch materials, pricing and engagement letter templates. Honest answers — including when something cannot be done or a price cannot move. And notice within two working days of any change to product, pricing or commission.

Forming next

The roles that follow

Sequenced deliberately. Each is recruited when the work exists, not in anticipation of it.

After the first pilot lands

Support desk

As engagements go live, someone needs to own the day-to-day: clearing the review queue, answering the operational questions, and being the named person a trust contacts when something looks wrong. Part-time to begin with, growing with the number of live engagements.

Alongside the first engagement

Business Analyst

Runs the structured discovery sessions inside the trust — what the systems are, what the documents look like, who owns which field, where exceptions should route. Requires real NHS workflow knowledge; this is not a generic BA role.

Before the first bot writes anything

Clinical Safety Officer

Reviews and signs the hazard log at every gate, and cannot be skipped — no engagement writes to a clinical system without that signature. A clinical background and familiarity with NHS clinical risk management standards are both required.

How we work

Three things worth knowing before you apply

We do not oversell

There is an internal list of what may and may not be promised to a customer. Promising something outside it creates an engagement that cannot be delivered, and that costs far more than a lost deal.

Roles overlap

Small team. The lines between sales, delivery and support are less defined than in a large organisation, and everyone occasionally does something outside their title.

We tell customers no

If a first engagement shows we are not the answer, we say so rather than selling the nearest thing we have. You need to be comfortable with that.

Interested, or not sure?

Send us a note about your background and which part of this interests you. If the fit is not there we will tell you quickly rather than leaving you waiting.
